Energy transition in hotel operations – practically implemented

Photovoltaics: green electricity from our own roofs

As a responsible hotel business, we consistently focus on sustainability and environmentally friendly energy generation. Powerful photovoltaic systems on almost all the roofs of our hotel generate our own green electricity – clean, efficient and future-oriented.

Complete heat pump conversion by end of 2025

Today, 110 of our 140 rooms and numerous conference rooms are already heated and cooled in a climate-friendly way using modern heat pumps. By the end of 2025, the entire hotel and a large part of the event operations will be completely converted to this sustainable heating and cooling system.

Largely self-sufficient energy supply

To optimize energy usage, we also use high-performance battery storage systems. These ensure reliable supply during peak demand periods and help us achieve our goal of near energy self-sufficiency.

Surplus electricity is not wasted – we feed it into the public grid as green electricity. And we guarantee sustainability even during periods of low wind and sun: we only use certified green electricity.

Excellent sustainability - with "Gold" in the DEHOGA environmental audit

For us, sustainability is more than just a claim – it is a lived practice. We are therefore all the more delighted to have been awarded gold in the renowned “DEHOGA Environmental Check”. This highest rating confirms our continuous commitment to environmentally friendly hotel operations. Participating companies undergo a comprehensive test procedure in the following areas:

  • Energy and water consumption
  • Waste management and avoiding residual waste
  • Food quality and origin, especially regional purchasing

Clear and differentiated criteria apply to each of these four categories – with high requirements for the bronze, silver and gold award levels.

We see the fact that we were awarded gold as confirmation of our consistently sustainable approach – and as an incentive to continue taking responsibility. For our guests, our region and the future of our planet.
